Rutte calls on Germany to increase defense spending.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called on Germany to increase defense spending and boost weapons production. According to Rutte, Germany should 'spend more and produce more.'
The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance emphasized that this issue will be the subject of debate in many European countries in the near future. He explained that this call is related to the threat posed by Russia. Rutte stated: 'We must prepare for war, this is the best way to avoid it.' He also noted that the increase of military capabilities by China is also a danger.
The alliance's Secretary General particularly highlighted Germany's efforts to provide military assistance to Ukraine, which has been ongoing for three years. According to him, no other NATO member country supports Kyiv as strongly as Berlin. Rutte expressed hope that Germany will be able to do even more, given its potential.
Rutte reported that the alliance's allies will soon make a decision regarding defense funding. He assured that this will be a significant amount, much greater than two percent. The next NATO summit will take place in June in The Hague.
