Shmyhal: Russia is deliberately striking at Ukraine's energy sector
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a conversation with the Acting Special Representative of the USA for Ukraine Economic Recovery, US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma. The Prime Minister informed Verma about the damages to civilian infrastructure as a result of Russia's attack, which was the largest. Particular attention was paid to damages in the energy sector. Shmyhal noted that energy workers are doing everything possible to restore electricity supply to Ukrainian homes.
Also, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of confiscating frozen Russian assets and directing them to support Ukraine. Shmyhal urged partners, particularly the USA, to speed up work in this direction, counting on their support.
The participants also discussed long-term projects and war-risk insurance. It was noted that joint work in these directions continues.
