Poroshenko's associates outraged by the new history textbook for the 11th grade: what is the reason?.

The new history textbooks for Ukraine's 11th grade have become a hot topic of discussion on social media. Particularly, the book 'History of Ukraine' authored by Halimov A. A., Hisem O. V., and Martynyuk O. O. has sparked expressions of dissatisfaction from representatives of Petro Poroshenko and journalists connected to the former president, who believe that such textbooks give excessive attention to Volodymyr Zelensky.
One of the members of parliament from the 'European Solidarity' faction, Volodymyr Ariev, noted that photographs of Zelensky appear on every page of the textbook, which he believes borders on a cult of personality. Journalist Vitaliy Haidukevych also expressed his dissatisfaction, stating that the section on the Russian invasion shouldn't contain photographs of Zelensky and his team. Former MP Igor Lapin believes that other textbooks resemble Soviet propaganda.
Alexander Mykhelson, a journalist, stated that the textbook features portraits of not only Zelensky but also Poroshenko. He claims that criticism of Zelensky is a tool of manipulation.
It should be noted that the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has already posted five history textbooks for the 11th grade.
Textbooks have repeatedly become a subject of discussion on social media. For example, the Ukrainian language textbook for the seventh grade, issued in 2024 at state expense, had a map of Ukraine without Crimea. Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Science announced the need to improve the quality of textbooks and timely identify possible deficiencies.
It is also worth noting that the Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovyi, has 30 advisors, whose maintenance costs for 2023-2024 and the period until March 2025 amounted to 6.6 million UAH.
