Oleksandr Shovkovskyi became the champion of Ukraine again
14-Time champion of Ukraine Oleksandr Shovkovskyi replicated the achievement of Anatoliy Demyanyenko and Serhiy Rebrov, becoming a champion both as a player and as the head coach of 'Dynamo'. On Sunday, May 18, 'Dynamo' under Shovkovskyi's leadership became the champion of Ukraine ahead of schedule.
This title is the 30th for the team in its history. The Kyivans became unreachable for their competitors and secured their gold medals as champions of Ukraine. 'Dynamo' can now add a third star to its emblem, as they hold the record for the number of championships in both the Soviet Union and independent Ukraine. The team also has a chance to finish the season unbeaten.
In the previous match, 'Shakhtar' defeated 'Dynamo' in the final of the Ukrainian Cup for the 2024/2025 season. The decisive goal in the match for the club advantage was scored by Oleksandr Karavaev, allowing the 'miners' to defend their title.
