The USA has intensified sanctions against Iran's shadow oil fleet.

The Biden administration is imposing new sanctions against Iran. These sanctions target 35 legal entities and ships that illegally transport Iranian oil to international markets. This is reported by Reuters.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Bradley Smith stated that Iran is using revenue from oil trading to develop its nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and drones, as well as to finance terrorist organizations in the region. This poses a threat to regional destabilization.
According to data obtained from the LSEG Workspace site, of the 21 vessels targeted by the sanctions, eight are loaded with oil. One of them was set to arrive at a Russian port to load oil.
These new sanctions are an extension of restrictions that were imposed on October 11. They are a response to Iran's attack on Israel on October 1 and the expansion of its nuclear program.
The main goal of these sanctions is to deprive the Iranian government of funds to develop its nuclear and missile programs. They include a ban on American companies doing business with the sanctioned organizations. Additionally, the assets of these organizations will be frozen in the U.S.
