Russia apparently tried to intimidate Ukraine and its foreign partners by means of a medium-range ballistic missile strike on Dnipro, but this will not be a decisive factor in this conflict.
This was stated by the US chargé d'affaires at the OSCE, Katherine Bruker, during a special meeting of the Permanent Council and the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation regarding the escalation of the use of Russia's strategic armed forces in its war against Ukraine, as reported by Ukrinform.
'On November 21, Russia conducted an experimental launch of a medium-range ballistic missile against Ukraine. Russia is evidently trying to use these capabilities to scare Ukraine and its supporters, but this will not be a game changer in this conflict,' she said.
The American diplomat also noted that at the beginning of November, Russia transferred over 10,000 North Korean soldiers to the Kursk region, which is a 'serious escalation with security implications both in Europe and in the Indo-Pacific region'.
Furthermore, according to reports, in collaboration with Yemeni Houthis, Russia is recruiting Yemenis to participate in its war against Ukraine.
'Russia is expanding this war. The only sensible solution for Russia is to stop this senseless war and respect Ukraine's right to sovereignty, freedom, and political independence. Until then, the United States will increase assistance to Ukraine in the field of security and provide the necessary support to achieve success on the battlefield. This includes providing additional artillery, air defense systems, armored vehicles, and other necessary means and munitions. We will continue to work with a coalition of more than 50 partners to ensure Ukraine's victory in its just self-defense war,' said Bruker.
