Supermarkets vs Markets: How Potato, Cucumber, Carrot, and Onion Prices Differ in Supermarkets and Markets.


Ukrainians were shown how potato, cucumber, carrot, and onion prices differ in supermarkets and markets in Kyiv and Odesa.
According to the Minfin portal, the cost of products in supermarkets and markets varies. Especially when it comes to vegetables. Compared to last month, the price of new potatoes has increased on average from 22.76 to 34.90 UAH/kg.
Prices for cucumbers have decreased. Smooth cucumbers are sold at 60.50 UAH/kg, long cucumbers at 84.99 UAH/kg, and prickly cucumbers at 72.90 UAH/kg. However, the cost of cucumbers can vary in different supermarkets.
Carrots have decreased in price from 19.76 to 17.79 UAH/kg, and onions are sold at 24.40 UAH/kg.
At the Stolychnyi market, the price of potatoes ranges from 17 to 22 UAH/kg, cucumbers from 45 to 55 UAH/kg, carrots from 16 to 20 UAH/kg, and onions from 11 to 13 UAH/kg.
At the Odesa market "Pochatok", the wholesale price of old potatoes is from 18 to 20 UAH/kg, and cucumbers can be purchased at a wholesale price of 30 to 35 UAH/kg.
Young carrots can be purchased from 15 to 40 UAH/kg, and old carrots from 15 to 19 UAH/kg. The price of onions varies from 8 to 15 UAH/kg.
Such price differences for products depend on the place of sale. It is recommended to pay attention to them and choose the more advantageous offers.
