Thousands of Ukrainians left in the UK jobless: reason highlighted.

The United Kingdom has temporarily suspended the acceptance of applications for visa extensions under the Homes for Ukraine program until February 4, which has caused problems for Ukrainian refugees. According to The Telegraph, this has led to job losses and difficulties in renting housing.

This suspension of applications has led to 41% of Ukrainians being unemployed or not receiving a raise due to uncertainty about their immigration status, 22% have lost their jobs, and 24% are facing issues with renewing housing leases.

Surveys show that 94% of Ukrainian refugees plan to extend their visas, and 68% intend to stay in the United Kingdom after the end of the war.

According to the UK's Office for National Statistics, 68% of Ukrainians intend to remain in the country after the war ends.

Currently, about 220,000 Ukrainian refugees are in the United Kingdom, who have received visas under various programs, including Homes for Ukraine. This program allowed Ukrainians to stay in the country with the support of sponsors and provided three-year visas.

It was previously reported that tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees in the United Kingdom risk losing their jobs due to the tightening of the kingdom's visa policy.

The UK government plans to make massive layoffs of civil servants due to economic problems, - said Finance Minister Rachel Reeves. According to her estimates, about 10,000 people may lose their jobs.
