U.S. President Donald Trump officially announced that Mike Walz will be nominated as the new U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

'I am pleased to announce that Mike Walz will be nominated as the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations,' Trump stated in his message published on the social network Truth Social on May 1, 2025.

The White House President emphasized Walz's long-term experience, highlighting his service in the military, work in Congress, and position as National Security Advisor. 'Mike Walz has consistently worked, putting the interests of our country first. I am confident he will continue to do the same in his new position,' the American leader emphasized.

It is also reported that during the transition period, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will temporarily fulfill the duties of National Security Advisor while also managing the State Department.

'Together we will continue to work tirelessly to make America and the world safer,' Trump emphasized in the conclusion of his message.
