A car accident in Kyiv led to the death of two citizens of Israel
On March 18, a traffic accident occurred in Kyiv, resulting in the death of two citizens of Israel. Their car lost control at high speed, went off the road, and overturned, according to Glavkom citing ashdodnet.com.
One of the deceased, 30-year-old Stanislav (Stas) Makhlин, was a six-Time champion of Israel in boxing. He graduated from school in Ashdod and worked as an event organizer and restaurant manager in Tel Aviv. He left behind a small daughter.
Stas's older brother, Alexander, said that his brother lived a fast life and died young. He had a beautiful smile and a love for life.
The name of the second deceased person is not yet known.
Japanese Olympic champion Nakayama died of stomach cancer
On March 9, at the age of 83, Japanese athlete Akinori Nakayama, a four-time Olympic champion in gymnastics, passed away. The cause of death was stomach cancer. Nakayama became famous for his victories at the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 and Munich in 1972, as well as at the World Championships.
In 2005, Nakayama was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
European football champion Doris Fitshen has died
On March 15, at the age of 57, German footballer Doris Fitshen, a four-time European champion, passed away. The cause of death was a long and severe illness. Fitshen was known for her achievements in football and won a bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games.
Doris Fitshen was a champion of Germany and won the German Cup.
