The Ministry of Energy assessed whether the transit of Russian gas will stop on January 1, 2025.

Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak stated that the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine's territory starting January 1 has become a reality.
As reported by 'Hvylya', he announced this during an online speech at a themed event by DiXi Group in Kyiv, reported 'Energy Reforms'.
Everything indicates that the transit (of gas from the Russian Federation – ed.) will stop on January 1
At the same Time, the Deputy Minister stressed that transit will no longer be a decisive element of supply for Europe and regions of Ukraine.
'Our GTS operator has certain successes in developing alternative gas supplies from other sources,' he added.
Meanwhile, the head of 'Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine' (ODGTSU) Dmytro Lippa stated at the event that the company is not considering the issue of extending Russian transit.
According to our baseline scenario, the cessation of the flow of Russian gas through Ukraine's GTS is expected, and these are the things we are incorporating into our plan for next year
According to the head of GDTSU, with the cessation of Russian transit, the risks of attacks on gas transportation infrastructure increase significantly, and Ukraine is taking all measures to reduce these risks.
He also clarified that 511 compressor stations are on the balance of the gas transportation system of Ukraine, of which only 10 are currently in operation.
To stop this (GTS – IF-U) – realistically, such a rather apocalyptic scenario could be, but its probability is extremely low. Therefore, technically the system is capable of withstanding quite significant loads in case of certain events
Previously, it was reported that 'Gazprom' is preparing for the cessation of gas transit through Ukraine in 2025.
