The Ministry of Defense reported on the effectiveness of the mobile app 'YEPPO' during shelling.

The Ukrainian mobile app YEPPO, developed by a group of volunteers called 'Technologists', is noted for its high effectiveness in the air defense system of Ukraine. This app helps detect low-observable missiles and drones.
This was stated by Kateryna Chernogorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development, on Sunday, November 24.
According to Chernogorenko, the app, which has been functioning for over two years, allows citizens to quickly report detected low-flying enemy objects to the Air Forces. This is especially important in conditions of complex terrain, where radars may not notice certain threats.
'Using the app is very simple. Just choose the type of object - drone, missile, plane, or helicopter - and press the red button to send a message,' Chernogorenko said.
To predict the trajectories of moving objects, the app uses artificial intelligence, and the data transmission to the air defense maps takes from 2 to 7 seconds. Additionally, the app features 'You have a threat coming' which alerts users about potential threats in their direction.
The success of the project is confirmed by the numbers: the app has been downloaded over 600 thousand times, with 200 thousand users actively using it. Thanks to the wide participation of citizens and effective communication with the armed forces, YEPPO provides 80% protection of Ukraine's airspace.
The app has successfully integrated with existing air defense systems and still plays an important role in protecting Ukraine's airspace from enemy threats.
It is also worth noting that drone attacks have forced Russia to copy the Ukrainian app.
