Sweden is considering the possibility of participating in peacekeeping forces in Ukraine

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated that Sweden is considering the possibility of participating in post-war peacekeeping forces in Ukraine. He added that negotiations must be conducted before a decision is made.

This statement came after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed readiness to send British troops to Ukraine for peacekeeping missions, aiming to show the USA that European countries should also participate in peace talks to end the war.

In response to a question about Sweden's readiness to participate in these forces, Kristersson said: 'We will participate in these discussions, and it is absolutely possible.'

Swedish Foreign Minister Marija Malmström stated that it is first necessary to achieve a fair and sustainable peace that will respect international law. After that, support for such peace will need to be ensured, and in that case, our government does not rule out participation.
