US President Donald Trump stated that he could give Russian dictator Vladimir Putin a deadline to agree on a ceasefire with Ukraine.

Confirming this, he responded to questions from the media, NBC News reports.

Trump stated that he has not yet set a deadline for agreeing on a ceasefire regime with Ukraine. But such a deadline may arise.

He also expressed confidence in reaching agreements.

'There was no deadline. But I think we will have one... They (Ukraine and Russia - ed.) are trying very hard right now, as you have probably seen both, but I think we will do it quite soon,' the head of the White House said.

In addition, Trump denied claims that Putin rejected the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire across the entire theater of military operations between Ukraine and Russia, which had already been agreed upon with Ukraine.

According to him, the Russian dictator 'rejected nothing'. Trump also confirmed that there are 'very many sanctions against Russia, possibly even more than against other countries'.

The US President also expressed confidence that Russia's war against Ukraine would soon end.

'We have had some good conversations, and maybe we can stop the death march as soon as possible,' Trump added.

Recall that the US, Ukraine, and Russia clarified the terms of the agreement regarding the resolution of the war.
