Ukraine has a foothold for economic growth within a 300-kilometer radius from the EU border - Deputy Prime Minister.

Cross-border cooperation programs, which are now actively being implemented, have a significant economic impact on regions located within a 300 km radius from the European border, said Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development.
"We are part of Interreg Europe - a cross-border cooperation program that provides grants to communities located close to the European border. These programs extend across the country due to our response. Research has shown that we have a clear base for economic growth within a 300 km radius, and European partners are helping us with this," said Kuleba during the Kyiv International Economic Forum.
According to Kuleba, one of the key development areas is the integration of Ukraine's railway networks with those in Europe. Since the track gauges in Ukraine and Europe are different, relevant projects are already being implemented and are expected to be completed by 2025-2026.
The Deputy Prime Minister assured that this will allow for the creation of a joint transportation link, ensuring the fast and efficient transportation of goods between Ukraine and Europe.
