Ukraine faces the threat of genocide again - PACE.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in its resolution stated that there is a threat of a new genocide in Ukraine due to Russian aggression. PACE's statement emphasizes that 90 years after the Holodomor, there is again a threat of genocide in Ukraine. The Parliamentary Assembly called on all governments to assist the Ukrainian people in their fight against genocide. The report by German parliamentarian Knut Abraham was approved during the PACE meeting, and the resolution was also adopted.
It is noted that in the context of the Russian war, there is a desire to deny the Ukrainian people's right to exist as an independent state. According to evidence, the new genocide threat includes mass killings, the use of powerful weapons in densely populated areas, targeted attacks on civilian infrastructure, torture of Ukrainians, destruction of cultural heritage, use of food as a weapon, and deportation of children.
PACE's statement calls on all member countries of the Council of Europe, observers, and partners to use all available tools, including the Genocide Convention, to prevent any acts of genocide against the Ukrainian people. The resolution also proposes that the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court consider investigating allegations of genocide against Ukrainians.
