Ukrainians explained how long mobilization can last and who can be drafted into the army.

Ukraine continues to conduct general mobilization introduced as a result of the large-scale war initiated by Russia. This legal regime, which operates parallel to martial law, has already been extended several times by the country's authorities. The latest extension stipulates that mobilization will last until November 9, 2024.
This is reported by "RBK-Ukraine".
Mobilization involves a set of measures aimed at switching the country's economy and armed forces to military tracks. This is necessary for effective resistance to external aggression and protection of the state's territorial integrity. Within the scope of mobilization, citizens are required to fulfill certain requirements. The main duties of citizens during mobilization include:
- Reporting to territorial recruitment centers (TRC) on the specified dates and places upon summons
- Providing property, including buildings, structures, and vehicles, for army needs with subsequent compensation
- Undergoing a medical examination to determine fitness for military service
- Possessing a military registration document and presenting it upon request of authorized persons
- Timely informing military authorities of changes in personal data
The main category subject to mobilization is men aged 25 to 60 years old who are liable for military service and do not have the right to deferment. There are some exceptions: citizens aged 18 to 25 may be called up if they have already served or have special military education. Young men of this age can also voluntarily join the armed forces by signing a contract.
It is important to note that the duration of mobilization is linked to the state of martial law in the country. Service for mobilized citizens will last until the official announcement of demobilization, which can only be made by a decision of the President of Ukraine.
This year, Ukrainian legislation has been significantly amended regarding mobilization. A unified electronic register of military servicemen has been created, which allows for the accounting and drafting of citizens. In addition, certain categories of persons, limitedly fit for service, have been abolished. Responsibility for those who evade mobilization has also been increased.
Despite the general nature of mobilization, there are categories of citizens who are not subject to conscription for military service - they have reservations. This ensures a balance between defense needs and the maintenance of critically important functions of the state and society.
