Ukraine Facility: how the tasks of the National Mine Action Strategy are being implemented.

Ukraine is successfully implementing the tasks of the National Mine Action Strategy
In 2024, 14 tasks planned in the Operational Plan for the implementation of the National Mine Action Strategy were successfully completed. Another 43 tasks are being continuously worked on and are expected to be fully completed by the end of 2026.
This information was provided by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Igor Bezkaravainy during the meeting of the National Mine Action Authority.
'We successfully completed a significant amount of work last year thanks to the joint coordination of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Defense, the State Emergency Service, and other stakeholders. But we are also analyzing what changes need to be made to the National Strategy and the Operational Plan and will soon prepare the relevant amendments to the documents,' noted Igor Bezkaravainy.
The meeting also considered issues related to the use of innovative technologies in mine action. In particular, a decision was made for the joint development of testing new solutions by the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Defense and the creation of a regulatory framework for their implementation.
The National Mine Action Strategy for the period until 2033 and the Operational Plan for implementation in 2024-2026 were approved by the government in June 2024. These documents are important benchmarks for all stakeholders. All this is part of the financial support program for Ukraine from the European Union - Ukraine Facility.
