International negotiations involving Ukraine, Russia, the USA, and the European Union
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the possibility of conducting international negotiations with the participation of delegations from Ukraine, Russia, the USA, and the European Union following phone conversations with US President Donald Trump. According to Zelensky's own words, such a meeting may take place in Turkey, the Vatican, or Switzerland.
The Ukrainian leader also noted that he asked Trump not to make any decisions about Ukraine without the country's appropriate involvement. Zelensky emphasized that for Trump, the most important thing is the start of direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, specifically the beginning of defining the conditions for a ceasefire and future steps.
In turn, during the conversation with Trump, Zelensky categorically rejected the possibility of fulfilling Russian demands regarding the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from territories that Russia considers its own. The President of Ukraine also expects concrete proposals from Russia regarding a ceasefire memorandum for further conflict resolution. The memorandum is also related to the issues of prisoner exchange.
