Basic social assistance may be introduced in Ukraine: who will receive 4500 hryvnias per month.


The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine has prepared a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on the implementation of an experimental project to provide basic social assistance.
According to 'Hvylya', the draft was published on the website of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine for public discussion.
According to the document, basic social assistance will be provided to the most vulnerable groups of the population as a means of combating poverty and supporting in difficult life circumstances. The amount of assistance will depend on the difference between the basic amount for each family member and the average monthly total income of the family.
The basic amount will be 4500 hryvnias. For the first family member, it will be 100% of this amount, and for each subsequent one - 70%. Basic social assistance will only be provided to those who voluntarily decide to use it and thereby forfeit rights to other types of assistance.
Recipients of a number of existing social benefits, including assistance to low-income families, single mothers, large families, internally displaced persons, and other categories of citizens, will be eligible to apply for basic social assistance.
For pensioners, the size of the basic amount will depend on the insurance period. For individuals with less than 10 years of service, it will be 53%, from 10 to 20 years - 62%, from 20 to 30 years - 70%, and for those with 30 or more years of service - 88%.
Previously, the Rada assessed whether it is possible to survive on a subsistence minimum of 3000 hryvnias.
