In Ukraine, one category of men has been allowed to travel abroad: what documents are needed.

Ukrainians informed about the possibility of traveling abroad for male students and teachers

The Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vinnytskyi announced that after the beginning of the Russian invasion, Ukrainian male students were restricted in their ability to travel abroad to participate in international educational programs. As of the beginning of 2024, the situation has changed, and they are now allowed to go study at higher education institutions abroad.

Also, teachers of Ukrainian higher educational institutions are allowed to travel abroad for professional development and to participate in conferences.

From January 1 to September 30, 2024, the ministry prepared 1297 letters allowing students and teachers to travel abroad. During this period, only one scientific and pedagogical worker did not return from abroad.

According to statistics, from January 1 to April 1, 2024, Ukrainian higher educational institutions sent 561 students abroad to participate in academic mobility programs, and all male students returned.

It was previously reported that the number of higher education institutions in Ukraine would be reduced.
