The number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine has sharply increased: reasons named by Zelensky.

Ukraine has 5 million internally displaced persons
More than 5 million Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to war and Russian occupation currently reside in Ukraine. This was reported by people's deputy Maxim Tycachenko.
The number of displaced persons is increasing, especially due to the rise in hostile actions. 'Currently, Ukraine accounts for about 5 million displaced persons who fled from war and Russian occupation in search of relative safety and peace,' said Tycachenko.
These figures are approximate as not all displaced persons remain in Ukraine; some are returning to temporarily occupied territories or going abroad.
It should be noted that the increase in the number of displaced persons is caused by the actions of the Russian aggressor and forced evacuation in certain regions of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the new wave of evacuation, about 15 thousand people have turned to the public organization 'IDPs of Ukraine' for assistance with housing. According to Tycachenko's estimates, the total number of displaced persons exceeds 200 thousand.
