The testing of the new breed was conducted at the farming enterprise of the branch 'Dibrivsky Horse Farm No. 62' of the State Enterprise 'Horse Breeding of Ukraine' in Myrhorod district, Poltava region. The creation process of the Ukrainian trotting breed lasted 30 years.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, 'The Ukrainian trotting breed is based on the population of domestic trotting horse selection. Methods of targeted selection by characteristics and breeding with the American Standardbred and French Trotter breeds were used for its creation.'
Ukrainian trotting horses are characterized by a strong and slender constitution with distinct harness features. They have a medium-sized head, medium-length neck, long sloped shoulder, straight medium-length back, short loin, medium-length croup, and strong limbs. The temperament of these horses is gentle and energetic. They are also well adapted to various environmental conditions of Ukraine.

According to the ministry, 62.2 million tons of new harvest were collected from an area of 16.8 million hectares.
