Bread prices soar in Ukraine: how buyer preferences have changed.

Ukrainians explained what is happening with bread prices
Ukrainians are witnessing a gradual increase in bread prices. In fact, prices have risen since the beginning of 2023, but the amount of bread purchased remains unchanged. This means that consumers are not willing to compromise on bread quality and are not switching to other bakery products. Experts have found that bread expenditures account for two to eight percent of the population's total expenses.
According to Olena Lapshova, marketing manager of Lesaffre Ukraine LLC, this indicates that consumers do not want to give up bread quality and are not switching to other types of bakery products. "Sales of traditional breads and loaves are decreasing, while toast bread, rolls, lavashes, baguettes, and yeast products are increasing," she stated.
In addition to this, Lapshova noted that there is a growing popularity of ready-made food, packaged products, and local production. This means that consumers are more inclined to support domestic producers.
