Veterans may appear in Ukrainian schools: what is known.

Veterans will teach students the course 'Defense of Ukraine'
According to the agency 'Khylya', veterans may be involved in Ukrainian schools to teach the course 'Defense of Ukraine'. Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of the presence of veterans in educational institutions to teach children to defend their state.
'There should be a veteran in every Ukrainian school. They should teach the course 'Defense of Ukraine'. No one can teach children what it means to defend their state better than them,' - emphasized Iryna Vereshchuk.
According to Vereshchuk, it is necessary to quickly prepare a large number of veterans who will become instructors in 'Defense of Ukraine' for high school students. A relevant joint order from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Veterans is to be adopted this week.
However, the issue of low salaries for veterans teaching in schools has been noted. Iryna Vereshchuk called on local communities to find ways to supplement veterans' salaries from their own budgets, as she believes that when a veteran teaches children, the country has a future.
It should be noted that the course 'Defense of Ukraine' will wait for Ukrainian schoolchildren starting from September 1, 2025.
Analysis
The decision to involve veterans in teaching the course 'Defense of Ukraine' in Ukrainian schools is of great importance from a patriotic and educational perspective. This is an innovative step aimed at raising children's awareness of the importance of defending the country and honoring veterans. Further improvement of working conditions and salaries for veteran instructors is also an important task that requires attention and support from the government and public.
