On the night of October 20, unknown individuals damaged the graves of Ukrainian defenders at the field of honor burials No. 76 of Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. This was reported by the managing director of the Lviv City Council Evgeny Boyko.
«At 02:42 at night, vandals desecrated the graves of our Heroes at the field of honor burials No. 76 of Lychakiv Cemetery. Services are working on site. We are reviewing surveillance cameras. Rest assured the scoundrels will face punishment», – the message states.
Boyko noted that the vandals damaged 23 graves, of which 17 belong to Heroes of the Russo-Ukrainian war, three – to political prisoners, and two – to volunteers.
Recall that in the summer in the village of Husiatyn, Ternopil region, an unknown individual damaged four graves of recently buried defenders. The police promptly found the perpetrator – a 53-year-old local resident.
It is worth mentioning that earlier in the Vinnytsia region, a criminal damaged more than 70 burial sites, both civilian and military. He broke tombstones, crosses, smashed photo frames of the buried, and tore down flags and flagpoles.
Recall the police in the Boryspil district detained a man who on August 16 poured a chemical substance on the foot of the stele to the Hero of the Heavenly Hundred, Yuriy Verbytskyi, in the village of Hnidan.
