Visit to Sumy Region: Zelensky Awarded Participants of the Kursk Operation.


President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the Sumy region on October 4, 2024. There he met with servicemen of the 82nd Separate Airborne Assault Bukovinian Brigade, participating in the operation in Kursk region.
During the visit, the Head of State visited the brigade's command post, where he learned about the operational situation and the execution of combat missions. Particular attention was paid to the use of EW systems, reconnaissance and FPV drones, as well as the fight against enemy drones.
He also awarded soldiers with state honors for their participation in the operation on the territory of Kursk region. Zelensky presented the Bogdan Khmelnytsky Orders of I and III degrees and the "For Courage" Order of III degree.
The President thanked the military for their service and emphasized the importance of the Kursk operation, which helped motivate partners from foreign countries providing Ukraine with military support.
During the visit, issues of providing the brigade with equipment, ammunition, and personnel were also discussed.
The President conferred the rank of Major General to the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy and the rank of Brigadier General to the Commander of the 9th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Lutsenko.
