Ukraine's survival critically depends on US support - media.

The US is considered the most powerful country in the world, but with the emergence of China as a geopolitical rival, this dominance may shift. According to William Hague, the rector of Oxford University and former UK Foreign Secretary, this will be particularly noticeable by 2025. In an article for The Times, the author states that modern democratic countries cannot avoid attacks without the support or assistance of the US.
Some experts argue that American power has already peaked. China's position has grown in influence, constantly expanding in terms of military capabilities and economic influence on the global stage. However, the US remains one of the strongest nations, even if it is not as strong as it once was.
According to the author, 'without the US, Ukraine will not survive. Taiwan will simply disappear. Europe will be forced to fulfill Putin's wishes. Thus, in 2025 we will witness a struggle for the support of Trump's White House, buying American goods and gas, defense spending, and imports may demand sacrifices and sometimes encourage ignoring tariffs.'
While some countries depend on the US, William Hague believes that such a strong dependence is dangerous. He argues that the current situation is more dependent on Americans than in 1941, and this increasingly threatens international political stability.
