Former US Army Commander in Europe Ben Hodges expressed his opinion that Russia will not be able to fully exploit the capture of Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. The retired US Lieutenant General considers such an acquisition an insignificant strategic victory for Russia due to the limited resources it is dealing with. He also supports the Ukrainian command's decision to launch a counteroffensive in the Kursk region, which creates a problem for the Russians and gives Ukraine a better position for future negotiations. Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War also report that the Russians may halt the advancement of their troops soon, as they have practically exhausted their reserves and capabilities.
