Zaporizhzhia NPP on the brink of blackout for the second time in a week.


One of the two power lines of the Zaporizhzhia NPP has been shut down due to shelling. The Zaporizhzhia station is currently connected to the Ukrainian energy system by only one power line. If this line is also disconnected, a complete power outage will occur. The Ministry of Energy warns that this is a serious violation and poses a threat of an accident.
The Zaporizhzhia NPP is facing the threat of power interruption for the second Time this week due to shelling from Russia. The Minister of Energy emphasizes that it is necessary to return the station under the control of Ukraine to ensure the safety of its operation.
Energy workers will begin restoration of the station's power supply if the safety situation is maintained.
Let’s recall that on November 16, one of the power lines of the Zaporizhzhia NPP was shut down as a result of shelling from Russia.
The International Atomic Energy Agency recommends not to launch reactors at the Zaporizhzhia station while the war is ongoing. The situation at the station remains unstable.
