Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives have been taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Taras Halayko.

On the eastern front, the defender of Ukraine, Taras Halayko, has died. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the post of the mayor of Cherkasy, Anatoliy Bondarenko.

Taras Halayko was born in Lviv. He graduated from a general education school in Lviv. At the Lviv Banking Institute of the National Bank of Ukraine, he obtained a degree in 'Financier'.

After his studies, he worked as the production director at the 'Aqua Solar Invest' company and the head of 'UkrSpirt'. He was later appointed to a position at LLC 'Bershad Lyuks'.

The man lived with his family in Cherkasy.

Halayko was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Cherkasy Combined City Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.

He served in the position of a number operator for a grenade launcher platoon in the fire support company of the military unit.

Remaining true to his military oath, Taras Halayko died on the eastern front, sustaining injuries incompatible with life as a result of enemy shelling.

On March 20, 2025, the burial of defender Taras Halayko took place in Cherkasy at the Alley of Heroes.
