The Ukrainian biathlon team is vying for the title of the best biathletes of the week. Among its competitors are Sweden's Hanna Ebergh and Sebastian Samuelsson, as well as Norway's Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold.

The winner will be determined by voting. You can vote on the official IBU website, as well as on the federation's Facebook and Instagram.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian men's biathlon team won a bronze medal at the World Cup in Nové Město, Czech Republic.

Before the relay, bookmakers and experts predicted that our team would fight for a place in the top 10. However, our athletes managed to create a real sports miracle and finished in third place.

Our team consisted of Artem Tishchenko, Vitaliy Mandzin, Anton Dudchenko, and Dmytro Pidruchnyi.

The first to start was Artem Tishchenko. Having used two extra cartridges in the "lying" and "standing" shooting, Artem passed the baton in ninth place.

Vitaliy Mandzin passed the baton in 10th place.

Anton Dudchenko hit all 10 targets without using any extra cartridges and finished his stage in fifth place.

Last on the course was the leader of our team, Dmytro Pidruchnyi. In the "lying" and "standing" shooting, Dmytro used one extra cartridge each. After the last shooting, he set off in third place and managed to finish in the top three.

This bronze medal became Ukraine's first award at World Cups in the last three seasons. The last Time Ukrainians earned a medal was in the 2021/22 season when Daria Blashko and Artem Tishchenko also won bronze in the mixed category.

As reported, the junior world championships in biathlon concluded in Östersund, Sweden. Biathletes contested 18 sets of awards in two age groups: younger and older.

Ukraine was represented at the junior world championships by 16 athletes: nine women and seven men. Each of them participated in at least one race of the competition.

Throughout the tournament, the team received one medal - the bronze of Oleksandra Merkusheva in the mass start of the older age category. Additionally, Ukrainians made it into the top 5 in individual races twice and finished fifth in the youth mixed relay, which is a record result for the country.

Thanks to Merkusheva's bronze medal, the Ukrainian team finished the competition with an award for the third consecutive time. The last time the "blue and yellows" did not receive medals at a youth world championship was in 2022.

In the overall medal tally, Ukraine took 11th place along with the teams of Slovenia and Switzerland, which is the worst result in the last two years.

In 2023, Ukraine finished in 12th place with two bronze medals: from Oleksandra Merkusheva in the "individual" race and in the mixed relay overall standings.

The winners of the medal tally at the junior world championships were the French team with 15 medals, including five golds. Norway took second place with five gold medals, and the German team secured third place with six awards.
