'I remember that we had a powerful package of means for deterrence before President Trump became the head of the United States. I wanted America to sell it to us. But it was not done,' emphasized Zelensky.

The President explained that he discussed this issue with his American counterpart. He believes that only showing strength can force Russia to sit at the negotiating table.

'I would like us to be strong. Showing strength will make Putin sit at the negotiating table. Perhaps we will not have to use this strength, but if Russia knows about its existence, it is already a very serious argument for ending the war,' he emphasized.

It should be noted that earlier President Zelensky mentioned that the USA plans to purchase drones from Ukraine, and Ukraine plans to acquire other military equipment from the USA.
