Zelensky calls on the EU for swift decisions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at the European Council meeting and called for faster decision-making and prevention of blockages to important processes. He also informed European leaders about the situation in Ukraine and urged them not to reduce support.

'Last night, the Russian army launched a massive drone attack on our country - a total of 171 strike drones, mostly 'Shahed'. They attacked our infrastructure facilities. In the city of Kropyvnytskyi, in central Ukraine, residential buildings, as well as an Orthodox church and a school, were damaged. Among the wounded are four children,' Zelensky reported.

According to the president, shelling occurs every day and night, despite Putin's statements about readiness to cease attacks. Zelensky urged European leaders to support Ukraine, especially in the field of air defense and military assistance. He also requested 5 billion euros for artillery shells.

'Europe needs technological independence, including in weapon production. Everything necessary for the protection of the continent must be produced here, in Europe,' the president noted.

Zelensky also emphasized the importance of maintaining sanction pressure on Russia until the full withdrawal of its troops from Ukraine and compensation for damages caused. He noted that he has support from U.S. President Donald Trump and continues to work towards achieving a ceasefire.

Zelensky also expressed dissatisfaction with the delays in Ukraine's Euro-integration process and the blockage of decisions in the EU. He called on European leaders to make decisions faster and ensure protection against blockages.

Concluding his speech, Zelensky thanked European leaders for working on security guarantees for Ukraine and called for others to join this process.
