The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during a press conference on March 12, 2025, announced his position regarding the negotiations between the American and Ukrainian delegations in Saudi Arabia. The meeting in Jeddah, according to the president, contributes to reducing tensions in relations between Ukraine and the USA, which undermines Russia's plans.

The main topic of the negotiations was security guarantees for Ukraine, which will be discussed in detail under the condition of a 30-day ceasefire. The president emphasized that during this period, specific security commitments must be recorded. If Russia is not ready for such a truce, Ukraine expects an appropriate response from the USA - sanctions against Russia and increased support for Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky clearly defined the 'red lines' for Ukraine: 'We will not recognize the territories occupied by the Russian army. Our people fought for this. Our heroes died. How many wounded, how many dead... Therefore, no one will forget about this crime against Ukraine.'

Regarding the domestic political situation, the president stated that martial law will be lifted after the end of the war, and elections will be held in accordance with Ukrainian legislation without any delays.

The president also emphasized that Ukraine's strikes on Russia are a response to its actions, not a demonstration of strength: 'Killing people and not responding to it - that will not happen.'

'The ball is in the court of the Russians, and regarding sanctions or other pressure measures on Russia - this will depend on the American side,' Zelensky added, noting that the scenario of 'peace through strength' may be realized.

Separately, the president stated that Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement with the USA regarding minerals and stressed that any meeting with the American president must end with a positive result for both sides.

Let us remind you that Zelensky set conditions for lifting martial law and holding elections in Ukraine.
