Zelensky imposed sanctions against the government of Georgia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the imposition of sanctions against the current government of Georgia. One of the main targets of the sanctions is the former 'Dynamo' player Kakha Kaladze, who is now the mayor of Tbilisi.
Kaladze played for Kyiv's 'Dynamo', 'Milan', and the national team of Georgia. He has impressive achievements and titles at the club level.
It is worth noting that Georgia has been experiencing large-scale protests for the past week due to the government's decision to halt the process of European integration. Protest participants gather daily in the center of Tbilisi, despite the actions of law enforcement agencies.
Zelensky has already stated that Ukraine is preparing a legal response to the suppression of protests and plans to cooperate with partners regarding further actions. The USA is also considering the possibility of imposing additional sanctions against the Georgian government in connection with their actions against the protesters.
Just yesterday, the protest in Tbilisi took place for the first Time without clashes with the police and without dispersing the demonstrators.
