Changes in Parking: Ukraine Introduces a 10% Quota and New Sign.

Draft Law on Protecting the Rights of Drivers with Disabilities
The Government of Ukraine has approved a draft law aimed at enhancing the protection of the rights of drivers with disabilities, particularly war veterans. The initiative by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs proposes radical changes in the system of control over the use of privileged parking spaces.
According to the decision, the creation of a single recognizable sign 'Driver with Disability', equipped with a QR code for confirming disability status, will be a central innovation. This technological initiative is expected to help prevent unauthorized individuals from occupying privileged parking spaces.
Thanks to this, it will be possible to more effectively control who uses the privileged parking spaces.
Moreover, the draft law stipulates requirements for the arrangement of free parking spaces. Under the new rules, at least 10% of spaces must be allocated for persons with disabilities on all parking lots, at least one space for every ten.
Documents related to this draft law are proposed to be added to the Law 'On the Fundamentals of Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities in Ukraine'.
Now the draft law awaits consideration in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to improve the parking situation for people with disabilities and veterans across the country.
Earlier, experts explained that updated traffic rules and technical inspections are being concealed.
Analyzing the new draft law, it can be noted that it aims to improve conditions for drivers with disabilities and war veterans. The initiative to use a QR code and a recognizable sign is a step towards preventing the unauthorized use of privileged parking spaces. The updated requirements for the arrangement of parking lots are also aimed at ensuring accessibility for persons with disabilities. We await further developments on the situation in the future.
