'I found out that Sashka went to war, but only after it became known. With such a diagnosis, where could he go? I believe he did not go to war of his own accord; he could not adapt to ordinary life. He had problems with affairs, with housing,' said one of the athletes who trained with Rabotnytskyi.
Close ones say that after finishing his professional career a year ago, he became addicted to gambling.
'Relatives tried to help, colleagues intervened, but he accumulated many debts and saw only one way out - to get into the trenches. Sports initially helped him, but in civilian life he did not find his place,' said one of Rabotnytskyi's acquaintances.
