«If someone wants to steal money…». Kipiani told what the story with the construction of the military cemetery might end with.

Controversies have arisen around the construction of the National Military Memorial Cemetery. This was reported by historian Vakhtang Kipiani in an interview for the publication «Glavkom». Kipiani is also a sergeant of the 13th operational brigade of the National Guard «Khartiya».
The cemetery project is national and could be important for construction companies, but only one consortium «Building Ua» participated in the tender for its construction.
«If the consortium «Building Ua» was the winner of the tender and has no claims from the state, why not build the military cemetery?»
Kipiani noted that he recently attended an event where the leaders of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the state institution «National Military Memorial Cemetery» were present. He is convinced that any attempt to embezzle funds from the construction will be severely punished.
«If any of you want to steal money from the military cemetery, you will be 'killed'. This means political, moral, and career consequences,» – Kipiani warned.
The historian also noted that there are attempts to hinder the construction of this project from Russian agents and some local people.
«I have observed over the year how Russian agents and our local dumb**s are trying to hinder the construction of the military cemetery,» – Kipiani said.
Kipiani also pointed out that among the military there are both supporters and opponents of the construction of the memorial cemetery.
«It seems to me that most military personnel support the construction of the military cemetery. It is important to immortalize the memory of those who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war and those who will die in the future» - emphasized Kipiani.
According to «Glavkom», the state institution «National Military Memorial Cemetery» signed a contract with the consortium «Building Ua» on August 7 for the construction of the first phase of the National Military Memorial Cemetery in the Kyiv region. The construction cost is 1.75 billion UAH. The work should be completed by the end of 2025.
