Netflix is testing a new feature in its mobile app

The streaming service Netflix has announced the trial of a new feature in its mobile app that resembles the popular social network TikTok. This colorful feed of vertical videos will be used to discover new content, reports 'Glavkom', citing Netflix.

The company announced that the testing of the new feature will begin in the coming weeks. The controls for the feed will be located in the lower right corner of the screen, similar to the TikTok interface. Users will be able to jump directly from viewing short videos to movies or series, add to their watchlist, or share with friends.

'We know that scrolling through a vertical feed in social media apps is an easy way to consume video content', said Netflix's Chief Product Officer Eunice Kim during a press briefing.
'We are always looking for new ways to entertain participants and make it easier for them to find what they want', added the Director of Product Innovation at Netflix.

Platform Development

Netflix is no stranger to experimenting with the integration of TikTok elements. In 2021, a feed of comedy shows titled 'Quick Laughs' was introduced. There is also a feature called 'Kids Clips' for children's programming. Netflix is constantly evolving, trying to cater to viewers with varying preferences.

It has also been announced that Netflix is launching an updated design for its TV app. The streaming service continues to rapidly evolve, adapting to user needs and market realities.
