In Poland, 18 people, mostly citizens of Ukraine, have been arrested on suspicion of organizing sex slavery and human trafficking. The criminals operated in major cities of Poland.
By order of the Lesser Poland Department of the National Prosecutor's Office, 18 people were arrested, of which 15 are citizens of Ukraine.
“They primarily exploited their countrywomen who were in difficult life circumstances. They recruited them to provide sexual services. One woman was deceived, with a middleman paying 50,000 zlotys for her. The profit from her work was estimated at 120,000 zlotys,” said the spokesperson of the Chief Command of the National Police (CBŚP) Krzysztof Wrzesiński.
The criminals operated from April 2023 in Krakow, Warsaw, Wrocław, and Poznań. According to the evidence, the gang earned at least a million zlotys from their criminal activities. It is currently confirmed that several dozen women may have been working for the gang.
Among those arrested are individuals who recruited women, photographed them for advertisements on the Internet, organized meetings with clients, and delivered women to the locations of sexual services. It has been established that women forced into prostitution were given cocaine.
The first arrests took place in May 2024 in Krakow, Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań, and Karpacz. Three individuals were charged with leading an organized criminal group.
The second operation took place in March 2025 in the Wrocław area. Six individuals were arrested, of which 5 are citizens of Ukraine and 1 is Polish.
The prosecution has charged these individuals with participation in a criminal group, human trafficking, and money laundering. During searches, dozens of phones used for contacting clients were seized.
The perpetrators face a punishment of up to 15 years in prison. The case is under investigation.
