Trump's 'Golden Umbrella' for the USA: how much will the adventure cost.

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump intends to develop a new missile defense system called the 'Golden Dome'. The Pentagon has been tasked with studying this idea, and the White House promises not to limit funding for the project.
Already in the first week of his presidency, Trump ordered the Secretary of Defense to present a plan for the implementation of the new system by the end of March.
The concept of the 'Golden Dome' is based on Israel's 'Iron Dome' system, but Trump's project's scale is much larger. The U.S. plans to build a space shield that can protect the entire country from ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
However, experts have doubts about the effectiveness of such a system. They believe that constructing the 'Golden Dome' will take at least 7-10 years and will only be able to protect strategically important sites and cities. Moreover, such a system will be very expensive.
Analysts also draw parallels with Ronald Reagan's initiative from the 1980s known as 'Star Wars'. At that Time, the U.S. spent a lot of money on the project, but technical difficulties led to its cancellation.
Critics also point to the technical and economic impossibility of creating a reliable defense against an opponent's nuclear arsenal. The American missile defense system today is designed to deal with only a limited number of missiles from countries like North Korea.
The previous version of the missile defense system caused a wave of doubts and outrage among experts. They are concerned about the vulnerability of the system to enemy attacks and the possibility of destabilizing the nuclear balance.
