In the second international legion, Ukrainian soldiers have the support of representatives from 30 countries. Among them are fighters from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, Colombia, Brazil, Poland, Russia, Belarus, and even the Faroe Islands. This was reported by the unit commander, Major Oleksandr Yakymovych, in his interview on 'Hromadske Radio', as reported by 'Glavkom'. Each of the legionnaires has their own motivation for fighting against Russia.

Latin American countries have suffered greatly and continue to suffer as a result of communism. The Soviet Union tried to influence this region, opposing the United States, and this is reflected in history and people's perceptions,' explained Oleksandr Yakymovych.

There are also many soldiers from Colombia in the Ukrainian army who need military experience to confront local drug cartels.

Earlier, two soldiers from China joined the drone battalion of the 110th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They consciously chose Ukraine and are now defending its freedom, despite the language barrier and all the difficulties.

In addition, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed a law that allows foreigners to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in officer positions.

Earlier, parliament passed bill number 12023, which concerns the military service of foreigners and stateless persons in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service, and the National Guard of Ukraine.
