Czech Republic will help modernize Ukrainian hospitals: 6 projects approved.

The Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko met with the Government Commissioner of the Czech Republic Tomáš Kopečný and the Czech delegation to discuss plans for the modernization of Ukrainian medical institutions.
'According to the latest assessment by the World Bank, the recovery needs in the medical field over the next 10 years amount to 19.4 billion dollars. And this figure, unfortunately, is not final. In the last year alone, the number of damaged healthcare facilities has increased by almost 40%. Support from partners is critically important for us. The Czech Republic is a participant in the Ukraine Facility program and is potentially ready to undertake the financing of the reconstruction and modernization of 13 hospitals in 7 regions of Ukraine. To date, the European Commission has approved Czech partners' support for 6 public investment projects,' stated Viktor Liashko.
Currently, the European Commission has approved modernization projects for the following healthcare institutions:
- Lviv Regional Veterans Hospital named after Yuri Lipa;
- Rivne Regional Veterans Hospital;
- Volyn Regional Clinical Hospital;
- KP 'Kryvyi Rih City Hospital No. 5' of the Kryvyi Rih City Council;
- KP 'City Clinical Hospital No. 16' of the Dnipro City Council;
- Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital.
Meeting participants discussed the implementation of projects and further cooperation to improve the efficiency of Ukrainian medical institutions.
Viktor Liashko also thanked the Czech Republic for the humanitarian assistance provided. Since the beginning of the war, the Czech Republic has allocated 4.3 million euros for medical equipment, ambulances, buses, and communication means for medical units.
